It was really foggy, but the fireworks show was great anyway, though the pictures don't do them justice.
The next night we stayed in St. John, New Brunswick, where
we caught the Princess Acadia Ferry that took us, rented van and all, over the
Nova Scotia. The crossing took just over
3 hours, and it was foggy for awhile, but then it cleared up and we could see
pretty far out into the Bay of Fundy.
Apparently there are whales that the ferry passengers see from time to
time, but we didn’t see any. It was a
big enough ship to hold over a hundred cars, plus 20 or more 18-wheelers, plus
rvs, motorcycles, walk on passengers, and bicyclists.
We landed in Digby, Nova Scotia and spent most of the day
today driving around the southern tip of the province. It’s just amazing how much water there is
everywhere in the provinces, and everything is so green. We’re in West Pubnico tonight. It is a small lobster fishing village. We’ve seen a couple of lighthouses so far and
hope to see more tomorrow as we head on up the coast toward Halifax. More to come….
