It's so nice to live in the country...I love sitting on the porch watching the sun set. The breeze was so cool today after such a hot afternoon. We worked on the roof from early this morning until around five this afternoon and finished up the center section, so we only have about a third left to finish the entire roof. We're both really sore, and I think we're going to have to retire a couple of pair of ripped jeans, but it's good to see it coming together. The black/grey shingles really make the house look nice.
Jason and Tamara helped us all day on Friday, and it went really fast. They are much more energetic than us, though Tamara did get an owie when she hit her finger with the hammer. It was bleeding, and she didn't even say any pretty words! Amazing! I hit my thumb several times and wanted to scream! In fact, I think I did scream...inside, anyway. =D Jim and I are taking Aleve every night...our joints and muscles are letting us know we aren't as young as we once were.
Doug, Laura, and baby Douglas came down Friday and stayed through Sunday. It was good to see them and get a chance to play with Douglas. He's such a happy little guy! I love making him laugh with my Donald Duck voice!
Easter Sunday, we went to church with Jason and Tamara, then Jason came and went to the late service at our church with us before we headed to their house for lunch with them and Carrie. Both were wonderful services, with uplifting music and inspiring messages. Tamara made a wonderful lunch of baked ham, mashed potatoes, and salad, and we made some scrumptious individual pineapple upside down cakes in her new Pampered Chef brownie pan. =D
We are so blessed!
Until later.....
