Drove to San Angelo today to get some lumber for the eaves of the house. Had lunch with Jason and Tamara at Whataburger (the old standby), and went by to see Jason's progress on the tile floors. The kitchen, mudroom, utility, and full bath are all tiled and grouted. They look great and will surely add to the resale value of the house. We went by Olive's Nursery to look for a Magnolia tree because I've been hounding Jim for one for awhile. She had two rather pathetic looking ones marked at $250 each, but said they haven't had much luck growing them in the San Angelo area, so she would take $150 for both with no guarantee that they will live. Jim just planted them with care, and I said a little prayer over them, so hopefully they will grow to be beautiful white Magnolias that will give us many years of shade and smiles. Roses in the side yard are blooming beautifully. Made sour cream pound cake (wonderful recipe) and topped with strawberries and freshly whipped cream. We each enjoyed a bowl while sitting on the front porch watching the sun set in the cool breeze.....and so it goes. =)
