I found out that if you complain too much about the cold weather in Indiana, you get sent to Canada! We're in London, Ontario (Jim said just to say we were in London to see how many geography experts read this). It's something like 12 degrees here with snow packed on the roads and piled up everywhere. We got on a side street that was solid ice earlier, but the main roads are fine. I talked to one of the Panther dispatchers on the phone earlier to check our board position. He said, now let's see, that's Ontario, so I have to type in ONT after the town. I told him he could add a B-R-R, too if he wanted to. It took him a minute, but he laughed when he caught on. We're headed back to Detroit with a load tomorrow to take to the GM plant so at least we'll be back in the states. We just had some coffee and hot chocolate at Tim Horton's (that's Canadian for Starbucks, though it's much cheaper than its US counterpart.)

The snow has been really nice to see, but I'm ready for a run to Florida or Texas. The waitress who served us dinner tonight said I had an "interesting" accent and wanted to know where we were from. Then, the lady at Tim Horton's asked if we were taking the coffee we bought back to the states. I guess she could just tell we weren't Canadians, huh? Or is it "eh"? We were in another store shopping for some Christmas gifts, and the clerk said she loves the Flying J truckstop here because it serves "American Food" for breakfast. I asked her what the difference was between American and Canadian breakfasts, and she said "Biscuits and Gravy." She said they just don't get it in Canada and that biscuits and gravy should be a staple item. We agree, by the way.

The time seems to be dragging out as we lead up to Christmas. I'm ready to go home for a few days and see everyone. I thought the homesickness would get better in time, but some days I just well up and cry with no warning. Poor Jim. He just can't predict when it will hit me. And he said if it wasn't for the occasional biscuits and gravy, he would have dried up and blown away a long time ago. He says the hat with ear flaps that I bought him for his birthday helps, too. :0)

Jason and Tamara are in the final stages of closing on their house in Odessa, and we're super excited for them. Their one year anniversary is coming up in about a week.

I'm excited about teaching some online classes for WTC, and I've been trying to catch up on my reading for it. I haven't ready Beowulf, Sir Gawain, or the Canterbury Tales in a few years!!

I'm attaching a few pictures of the snow and hope you don't get a chill looking at them. We've seen some beautiful landscapes over the past few weeks, most of them white.

Hope you're all well and warm and that we see you soon.
