We picked up a load in the northern Michigan penninsula yesterday morning, in the city of Grand Haven. We thought that it might be snowing when we woke up in the morning, but it was just misting lightly. Small wonder, though, because show was forcast and it was also around freezing temp. We're taking the load to Smyrna, Tennessee, just south of Nashville, to the Nissan plant there, so we should be in warmer weather by this afternoon. Right now it's around 10am on Sunday.
The drive down the western edge of Michigan was really beautiful. We had some extra time and decided to take a side road detour because we were only about 1/2 mile from the shores of Lake Michigan. We found a little public park to stop at and take a few pictures. The fall colors were so stunning along with the views of the lake. I'm including some of the pictures we took. There were beautiful homes scattered all along the shore and set back into the tall trees. I think that must be a wonderful place to live. It seems so peaceful, and the leaves on the ground just seem to make everything softer somehow.
We still don't know where we'll be on Thanksgiving Day, but if we don't get home, we'll stop somewhere for a nice Thanksgiving dinner. We'd love to see our boys and everyone else, and we've put in for home time, but we won't know until the middle of the week exactly where that may take us.
Well, I'll go for now, but I did want to ask everyone to say a special prayer for a little 4-year old boy that we sponsor through Compassion International. He lives near the coast in Bangladesh, and if you've seen the news lately, you know that over 1700 people there were killed this week by a tropical cyclone. We received an email from Compassion saying that they don't have any information about him and his family yet, but they will let us know when they do. His name is Pallab Datta, and he lives near the village of Khulna.
Thanks guys, and God Bless.
Jim and Sandy
