Well, we both passed the written exams for the Indiana Operators licenses, the General Knowledge section of the CDL, and the Air Brakes section. We will take the over the road driving section on Wednesday of next week. For now, we are staying in the house that Expedite owns here in Indianapolis. It's a nice 2-story house with several rooms. Each has a keypad on the door, so we've only seen the one that we're staying in plus the large living room, kitchen, and office area. We'll be here through next Thursday, then head to Ohio for a few days for the convention. The owner of the company did part of our training today, and told us that we were "not the typical couple" that they train?!?!? Go figure. Anyway, his name is Kyle, and he's a really nice guy. He invited us to join the team at the Expediter convention before we go on to Panther (the carrier we'll be contracting to beginning next Monday). It should be interesting. We've been learning about log books, truck maintenance, strategic mapping, the web-based database that the company uses to communicate with the drivers, and tomorrow we'll meet with the financial planning firm. Next week, we'll begin the actual practice driving.
Anyway, it's been fun so far and interesting, so we'll see how the next few weeks go.
Take care . . . .lol
